[ on my iPad ]

HAVE YOU noticed the piles of these books everywhere? They have literally taken over the stores here...

Yup, I've caved to the hype and am now reading this on my iPad. I have to admit that I haven't read Harry Potter or seen any of the movies {I know. I know. What rock have I been under?} Psst...I also haven't read or seen Twilight. Just not my genre I guess. But I thought I'd give her first adult novel a read. Any of you reading this?

[ summer reading ]

IF YOU'RE looking to add a book to your summer reading list, I just finished One Secret Summer by Lesley Lokko and I really enjoyed it. What I thought was going to be just a light read, actually had a bit of a twist to it.

Basically, 3 women from very different backgrounds (one from London, one from NY and one from Somalia) find themselves all married into the same family and they eventually suspect there is something odd amongst the brothers in the family. I won't tell you more than that, but the secret does come out in the end.

This is the first novel that I've read by Lesley Lokko and I'll certainly be reading her others.

Have a great weekend everyone! What will you be reading this weekend?

[ at home with white ]

I JUST ORDERED a few new books from Amazon and this one is already a favourite. At Home With White by Atlanta Bartlett is filled with spaces that mix vintage painted pieces with soft fabrics, sparkling chandeliers and charming accessories. Such calming prettiness, it's a great escape in the middle of a hectic day.

[ more snow means a reading day! ]

SO OUR FRIGID temperatures have now warmed up to bring on more snow - at least 6 inches so far overnight and it keeps coming! Mother Nature is a funny gal! Good day to stay in and curl up with a book.

I picked up this new coffee table book after the holidays and I'm loving it! The simple, relaxed style feels comfy and easy - just the way a home should feel. Nothing trendy, just pretty classics that never grow old and a sprinkling of vintage. I never tire of relaxed cottage style. How about you?
